Hi EK1Tuning Team,
I recently attempted to flash my 2024 Elantra N using the EK1 Mini 2+ and the new OBD boot patch file. I followed the installation steps correctly, but I didn’t realize that bench cables were required for my vehicle and proceeded without them.
About 20 seconds into the flashing process, I received an error (I believe it said something like “no response from vehicle”), and after waiting about a minute, I unplugged everything out of panic. Since then, the car won’t start, and there’s a constant buzzing sound coming from the engine bay. I’m now concerned that the ECU may be soft-bricked.
I do have the original ECU file saved on the EK1 Mini, but I’m unsure how to proceed from here. Could you please advise me on:
-Whether the ECU can be recovered using the original file
-If I need specific bench flashing cables or tools
-If you offer recovery services or can point me to someone who can help
I’d really appreciate any help or guidance. I’m new to this and just trying to get things working again safely.
Thank you,
Jonathan Hales

2024 ECU doesn't need any patch job.
Please use a bench cable

You can recover your ECU with a bench cable
